i knew we created godzilla with the bomb

The lazy British Gorgo is too busy living off benefits while the Asian immigrant Godzilla is doing all his work for him! j/k
-
@atherinomorpha - i know a bit of Italian and less French, and subtitles on those films and tv are often wrong. not hugely inaccurate for the most part, but enough so there's a slightly different impression conveyed. still it beats being dubbed.

@ThePajamaGuy - technically Japan is region 2 - but i know what you mean, even the recent bunch of Godzilla and Gamera and Mothra films got no releases in the UK, they do in the USA (and maybe Australian region 4) though, so depending how rich you are you may be able to buy them. or watch them online...

AHH! THE SQUEAK! IT BURNS!!!
-
The translation on the subtitle was inaccurate! Is this really from BBC?
-
The movie is called Destroy All Monsters. The scenes taken from the end of the film where the Alien Invader Bad Guys base is discovered by Godzilla and he gets his payback on them for taking control of his mind.
-
Which godzilla movie is that at 2:26?
-
@ThePajamaGuy you can also get the original and it has some decent special features aswell

It's annoying how this is an English documentary and there are only two region 2 Godzilla films I EVER recall of: King Kong vs Godzilla and Godzilla 1998.
Please! We English NEED to see these films!
it makes my speakers spueak :(

This documentary was shot in 1998; I know, because I provided the Beeb with some of the Japanese interview subjects, and I was one myself!

I remember now yeah. The evening was a bit of a plug for the '98 movie, get a bit of interest in the genre. In the UK Godzilla movies were normally confined to late night triple-bills on Channel 4, ususally from the late Showa era.
Awesome book by the way!

All uploaded, glad you liked it. I hope sooner or later the BBC put this stuff out on iplayer. I guess they've got so many documentaries it'd take ages to go through.
The documentary was made in the mid 90s. It was part of an awesome "monster night" which I'll upload soon enough.
