  • I do not intend to create any racial issue here. Truth is this song was first released in Shanghai and sung by Yao Lee in 1900's . Then Frankie Lane later sung this in English. After that it was sung by singers in many different languages. We are universally one when it comes to music and songs. It is meant to be enjoyed by everyone of every race. But accurate history must not be twisted. We have to stop claming that this is an original Malay song. Thanks for great post Malaya Screen.

  • Hello, Najib, you want to know what a 1Malaysian is - Zainal Alam. Eat your heart out. The fact is the late Zainal Alam did not even need a slogan to demonstrate he was a Malayan through and through. Always love watching him doing those RTM shows. Boy, do I miss him!

  • i think this is even better than frankie laine's, the arrangement is more delightful. quite a thrill.
