The motor on this elevator sounds exactly like a dover that I know about in Bellevue except the one I know is 35hp (3500lbs capacity)

At least most of the HIGHdraulics aren't death-traps. They could be A LOT worse.

I know, and they are the ones who are responsible for 7-10 floor HIGHdraulics.

Maybe it was a small controller glitch, and Dover did make holeless elevators as well.

Dovers did not make holeless hydraulics very often. I think it's wrong to say this is typical for Dover. Someone my have called floor 2 and left (down direction would explain call cancel, and notice how the bell rang, which would onyl ring if someone pressed the button) or it could have been a minor glitch.
Yes, but with 3500 lb. capacity, they use 40 HP, since they don't make 35 HP motors.
