(BlackTree TV - Los Angeles) We had the honor of sitting down with Ms. Salli Richardson-Whitfield to talk about her new movie I Will Follow that will be in theaters this friday March 11. The movie which is a slice of life of a family dealing with tragedy when a close family member passes on. The movie, which is a bit of a personal tale by first time narrative filmmaker Ms. Ava Duvernay, has an all star cast and a compelling story.

I WILL FOLLOW is a quiet drama that explores the surprising thirst for life
we experience after the death of someone we love. Maye is a success. Hot career. Hot boyfriend. But when her world is turned upside down by family tragedy, she must struggle to maintain her balance. I WILL FOLLOW chronicles a day in the life of a woman at a crossroads, and the twelve visitors who help her move into a brave, new world.

Marking the narrative directorial debut of music documentarian Ava DuVernay
(This is The Life, My Mic Sounds Nice), I WILL FOLLOW stars Salli Richardson-
Whitfield ("I Am Legend," "Antwone Fisher") as "Maye," with Omari Hardwick
("For Colored Girls"), Dijon Talton ("Glee"), Tracie Thoms ("Rent"), Michole White
("She Hate Me") and Blair Underwood ("The Event") with Beverly Todd ("Crash").

  • I love Salli Richardson and I am so incredibly proud of her! I wish her all the success in the world and I can't wait to see her film. Please come to the D. C. area, there are a lot of black professionals around here and would be a great audience for your film. I look forward to seeing you on the new season of Eureka.
