  • I too have had a scaled load to shift which put me over weight on my truck with the trailer slide all the way forward. When called inside I showed my "CAT" scale ticket" kept my cool and the California DOT gave me a warning ticket which he said would protect me from other scale houses. With over 10 years of trucking I have received many inspections from DOT in many states, but they were nice and professional.

  • @xtruckerbob Thanks for sharing that man. The new guys need to hear stuff like that so they don't believe the opposite implied message that many of us truckers end up sending. If the new drivers come out on the road thinking all of the D.O.T. are out to get them, they will encounter them with an attitude. Which we both know won't play out well!

So all of you new drivers, as you see. Most of these guys arent trying to give you a hard time. Most are doing a job they care about.

  • Traffic laws here in California are beyond a joke!

  • @left4stupidbyfaith lol, they are a little different, that's for sure.

  • D.O.T. thinks all drovers are liars, cheats and swindlers. They do prey on drivers and they think most are scum.

  • TrkDrvr$waGG......JOIN the movement ,,,the only movement moving... literally...

  • You're a class act, driver!

  • Great video and thumbs up driver! You're right in that it can happen to anyone at any time. I've had my fair share of level 1 inspections from the man, some are cool and some arent. How you come across to the man may determine your fate. Remember that we're professionals and we need to act like it!

  • @locksmithite Thats great to talk to someone who knows the field. Thanks again !

  • @vincent7520 You're welcome. In his case, some states have what's called a "Bridge Law" which means that the distance between the kingpin (a downward protruding metal bar on the trailer that connects to the tractor) and the rear tandems has to be a certain amount. I believe California's law is 40 ft.
