History would be so different had Stauffenberg succeeded.  The story of Valkyrie would of course be more known and who knows what else?

I went to see this film and I did think that the film should of starred actual German actors. Only one of the actors in the film was actually German and that was Thomas Kretschman. The actor who played Hitler wasn't as good as the one in Downfall, I'd recommend Downfall that's a better film about Hitler. They did however capture the whole re-enactment of how they planted the bomb that almost killed Hitler and why it failed.

I'm looking to see if I can get the film in German.

LOLL the guy who played Hitler looked Alot like him from a long shot but not as a close up they should have not showed him close up and another funny thing about this film is that most of the actors playing nazis were all English lol.

I saw Thomas Kretschmann >.> Buahaha. :-) B+ is a good grade for this one, watched it recently and it's refreshing to get a hero point of view for once from an axis side.

this movie was terrible to me hitler doesn't even look right and how does the guy who tom cruise plays as get shot perfectly in the eye by a machine gun firing of a airplane.

And another thing the phrase "Based on a true story" doesn't have to mean that it's true to the story, if it is based on an event e.g the attempted assassination of adolf hitler then it can be tweaked as they please. Hitler could have died at the end and they still could have used based on a true story.
