Novodevichy,´only to you`,Doros, тебе одной, дорос, новодевичий

12 Septemeber 2009.We visited Novodevichy monastery and then we kept company to the familiar people who keep us company in the adjacent cemetery. We spent a peaceful afternoon far from the hustle of puzzled Moscow. I looked first for Sofronitsky´s demeurre, but in vain. JL decided to read his book. Menelaos was talking about music. Tenia and me were taking pictures. Eventually we found out how to procede and exercised our skills in reading cyrillic letters. Russian visitors were quite helpful when they spoke some other language. We smoked a cigarette in Richter´s bench chatting with a banker from Lichtenstein.

We all loved the folk romance-dedication ´only to you`. Apparently, the title informs that it is a kind of composition to be sung to special people on special occasions. Even Tchaikovsky has written one. We also liked the ´male vocal ensemble Doros` who is singing.

The balerina´s ´salon` belongs to Mme Galina Ulanova.

Can all those illustrious people be buried in one cemetery in Moscow? It is really quite astounding to think that might be the case.
