In January 2009, a team of community college educators flew an experiment aboard a Zero G aircraft at Johnson Space Center. Team members from South Plains College included: Shirley Davis, John Sparks, Alan Worley, and Charlotte Young. Other team members included Ray Benge from Tarrant County College, Linda Smith from NASA JSC, and Amber Gell from Lockheed Martin.
