Don't dismiss it due to the number of mics; that's just ridiculous! The results are stunning, both sonically and musically--I own their complete set of Shostakovich Quartets and play them on a multi-channel SACD audio system--it's just amazing. The sound has extraordinary presence but also plenty of natural-sounding ambiance. The playing is incredibly intense and virtuosic.

i wil never buy this recording...because of the close miking...every instrument
one mic...it is not a pop song recording......3 mic from schoep ommi wil
do the trick...of cours on a real distance..in this case a think more than
4 metres.....deeper in the score?????? you beter go deeper in ambiance..
and don,t use reverb from equipment.......................

Det tycker jag att det är men bara se till att det oxå är en bra cd spelare för det finns inte så många sacd skivor ha det i åtanke.
