I am not a specialist at all, but if what you wrote is accurate, felidae and the genus homo appeared about in the same time, some 2 million years ago. We used to be eaten by some large species of felidae, and now, their large species are on the brink of extinction while we commonly feed cats, artificially breed them and send them to places where they become immediately top predators...Our evolutive influence on this branch of the animal reign has become huge!

um, there is something wrong here: You say that Schizailurus "gave rise to" Felidae. but that doesn't make any sense, because Proailurus itself is a member of the Family Felidae. It is teh FIRST member of the family Felidae. Therefore, everything it gave rise to, including Machairodontinae, is a part of the Family Felidae. I assume you meant to say "Felinae" at the end there, not "Felidae." You see, Felidae is a Family, and Machairidontinae, Felinae, and Pantherinae are all sub-families.

I know that cats and dogs share a very distant ancestor but which was the line where they split?

i notice the posterbeast of ur video is of the fathercat, Proailurus, but it is not a tribute per se. A tribute should include footage of it triplette cousins Malagasy fossa/Sulawesi civet. These beast are what the 1st cats would have looked like . Also, include info about Pseudaelurus, which is my fav. biting cat and is almost ignored due to Proailurus, the same way Wakaleo is ignored due to Thylacoleo!
Ah! I'm so confused, I'm doing a project on cat evolution and I didn't see any names of the ancestors I've already collected (e.x. Felis Silvestris, Felis Libyca, and Felis Bieti). If anyone knows something please contact me?

@abbydoos123
i didnt include any species in this video because i wanted to keep it simple for people who dont understand the cat evolution
I'm not really interested in small cats from subfamily (felinae )
bit i know one thing
Felis silvesrtris gave rise to all domestc cats, thanx to the wild cat we have Felis Catus (aka Felis Domesticus)
sorry for the late reply
