I'm quite upset at the fact that the people in charge of the city of Detroit are always finding ways to try to bring more and more people into the city, yet they go and destroy one of the most memorable, historical, and popular buildings in the state. Tiger Stadium could've become so much more than an empty lot filled with weeds, dirt and rubble.

little kid wearing the yankees shirt :( way to rub salt in the wounds

Growing up in a small town, going down to Tiger Stadium was like bowing at the altar. As a kid I couldn't believe it, I'd do anything to go back.

I'm nowhere near married, no GF, and that proposal story's bringin' a tear on :P - I wish I could've gotten to experience Tiger Stadium more, I don't know how many games I've been to, I remember the Yankees and Indians were two.
In the concourse I'd look up to see walkways with people going across from them, sort of dark, and it was something I wanted to go up -
and yeah, seemed like ages going down those 3 ramps

was here once and i was like less than a year old, i wish i was old old enough to remember and appreciate it. I don't know why but i hate seeing these fields come down, yes i think it is great seeing all these nice new fields, but there is just something about old fields

It's sad it's gone , but Im taking my 10 yr old son to his first game at comerica park. And going to take time to walk around stadium to talk about old tigers and tiger stadium.

Comerica is absolutely awesome!, Detroit - You should be proud of it. Fenway Park is a first class dump and so is the neighborhood around it. They must just hang on to the stadium because if it's posterity and heritage to baseball -- The Red Socks need a real stadium. Get with the times, Boston. I wish they would knock down Anaheim and rebuild it too.

Out of all the abandoned buildings in Detroit, the city picks the coolest one. No wonder Detroit has been messed up for 50 years.

look the stadium demoluchion the losers tigers

@rockndude87 Ok...I dont' know how much you know about detroit, but if tiger stadium is where comerica park is now....gaurantee modifications only would've been done. Nothing against boston, but I still consider them lucky to have fenway park...just keep in mind that someday they may build another park...you never know
This was definitely a "money" issue imo, because look at fenway park for example. They're keeping that up and just modifying it. I have nothing against comerica park, but tiger stadium will always be the home of the tigers for me!

LONG LIVE TIGER STADIUM..
Up until the horrid city members that control govt had it torn down I got chills driving by it.
I spent many a summer days there as a child, world series, play offs and such.
Baseball isn't the same w/o the double decker blue facade standing in the outfield.
