  • What happens if i expose my clear quartz crystal to heat (from a stove)?

Will it turn a different color, or just break in pieces like glass?

  • @TheAtomKiller2000 It depends on how much heat is applied and for how long! Best answer is: be scientific and conduct the experiment yourself - but please, be very careful as too much heat could explode your crystal into tiny sharp fragments. So wear protective clothing, goggles, gloves etc and don't have any bystanders watching who could be injured.

  • It is not fake anything. As stated in the video, all citrine of the variety that is derived from amethyst is heat treated, either by nature or by man. Thank you for watching.

  • So, what does a real citrine supposed to look like? And actually, that means that citrine only exists because of Amethyst, and Amethyst is real in its form- - which is said in books not to put Amethyst in the sun, by the way! So, citrine is just another form of Amethyst? what about a tumbled citrine or any other tumbled stones? Now, I'm worried that half, or all my tumbled stones might be fake..........where can I find out if my stones are fake?

  • @chica2086 Heat treated citrine is not fake, because all of this kind of citrine comes from amethyst as a result of heat, whether from lava heat, from direct sunlight, or man made heat. The tumbled stones are the same because they are simply crystals made smooth. Natural citrine is usally lighter, even occuring as a tint in a quartz-like clear crystal. It is good to have a piece of each kind, they each have their own beauty and properties.

  • @anembocrystals HEy thanx for the explanation, I was kinda worried that I would've had to given up all my stones because of some bogus story I heard from another source.............................Thnx much!!!
