Various clips from a mirror experiment, to see if hummingbirds would exhibit their normal aggression towards their own reflection. Oddly, most acted confused, showing little or no aggression towards the "other" bird. Self aware? ...or perhaps just frazzled by the other bird's duplication of posture... Perhaps only the birds themselves know for sure!
Thanks so much for the view and kind words! Glad you liked my music as well =)

I may give it a try tomorrow if I can find a decent size mirror to use. You might want to check out some of my videos? I have them on Facebook also.

It's fun watching their reactions to themselves, alternately threatening then retreating from their own reflections. They seem to figure it out pretty quick though and then tend to ignore it, more or less.

Neat video. I thought about doing the same thing but haven't yet. Looks like I'll have to try it. I've tried just about everything else. :]

The weird things you see when you slow stuff down! I think there was something stuck on, or irritating the bird's leg, and she was trying to shake it off. It's odd to see them hanging their legs out like that too. Interesting stuff! :-)

I've never seen that odd twisting motion before at 1:10. Very cool.
