Harlem Community Speaks Out on Weekend Shooting - ROUGH CUT

on 8/9/10 Harlem Community Groups, leaders, and residents met up on the corner of 144th and Lenox to discuss the deadly shooting to that took place at a block party there this weekend. Luis Soto was killed, Luis Alvarez suffered 21 bullet wounds. At least six others were hurt in the shootout, including two NYPD officers. Many questions remain unanswered as the investigation continues.

@1012x2 Luis soto is loved by many and not just cuz hes Luis Soto but because he has influenced many people in positive ways, he looked out for many people and help and supported them through hard time but he was a "THUG" you feel it was ok what was done SMH i really hope that you never lose someone like this because the regret of even thinking like this will fall on ur shoulder real hard. @1012x2 Its really crazy how people can be so ignorant. Its a hard thing for anyone to lose a loved one in general. Its 2010 and what you consider to be "Kids Stupidity" is simply kids being kids. Im 100% sure that if one of your children would have been either one of these "kids" you would not be thinking that way. And dont know one Follow the ten commandments, so just because a person goes to partys, drinks, curses, listens to rap music does that really make them a bad person.

I understand that its a thing called racial profiling but it angvrs me when the cops stop these young black and latino men and frisk them and all i hear from my people is "thats not right they don't do that in white neighborhoods" It is because of this they stop them dead in their tracks before anything can happen. Not to say all black and latino men are up to no good but they wanna live this lifestyle: "money, guns and hoe, thats all they know."

DO YOU THINK ITS EASY FOR A POLICE OFFICERS FAMILY TO HEAR THAT THERE HUSBAND,FARTHER ,SON, UNCLE, WAS SHOT OVER YOUR KIDS STUPIDITY.THE PROBLEM IS THE PEOPLE IN YOUR COMMUNITY ACT LIKE SAVAGES.IF YOU ACT CIVILIZED THE POLICE WONT COME DONT TELL ME THAT THESE TWO GUYS WHERE FAMILY MEN WHO WENT TO CHURCH AND DID GOOD AND PLEASE KEEP THE COMMUNION PHOTOS WHEN THEY WHERE 10 YEARS OLD AND GOOD BOYS OUT OF THE NEWS PLEASE SHOW THE THUG PHOTOS .
