The Prelude from the Cello Suite No.1 in G Major by J.S. Bach. This version is performed unedited on an Electric Valve Instrument (yes, it says EWI on the instrument, but I use EVI fingerings. I'm a trumpet player after all!) by Craig Morris -- Professor of Trumpet at the University of Miami, Frost School of Music; Former Principal Trumpet of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Very nice. Love the patch! What computer setup do you use for your Ewi USB?

@jasoncarson97 Glad you enjoyed it! I am actually playing on an EWI 4000s not the EWI USB and I am playing on the internal analog modeling synth. The patch I use is one I created myself. No computer (except to record). No MIDI.

Beautifully played and a really appropriate patch for this piece! Nice to see someone playing the EWI/EVI so well...as most of what we see on YouTube is a bad representation of how wonderful the EWI/EVI can be! Thanks for posting this....

@TomCatSax Thanks for the comment! I couldn't agree more about the typical YouTube content for this instrument, there's not much good stuff out there. The EVI/EWI truly is an amazing instrument and it deserves serious attention from more musicians. I have been blown away by the expressive potential of it. Working on the Cello Suites has been a dream....

this is inspirational!... I know absolutely nothing about this instrument. If I buy it and try to play it "out of the box" ; how can I make it sound like yours? What is a patch? The cost of the EVI/EWI would be much less expensive that buying a good Cello... Any advice would be appreciated! jgpetko@msn.com
