Shooting my new Chinese millitary SKS made in 1971. It uses the 7.62X39 round. It has a 10rd mag and has a folding bayonet underneath the barrel.

The SKS may not be as short or handy as the AK but it beats it in accuracy and matches the AK in reliability. If you lose the mags for a AK your screwed and AK mags weight a lot. With a SKS the magazine cannot detach and if you loose your stripper clips rounds can be fed into the mag one by one.

  • hey where can you find cheap 7.62by39 ammo

  • look around at your local gun shops for the best deal.

  • Take AK-47 off the tags, the SKS is NOT an AK nor an AK varient

  • The SKS was also developed before the AK. I view the SKS as a stepping stone between the SVT to the AK. The AK was heavily derived from the German MP44 sturmgewehr. So with your logic an AK tag on a MP44 movie should be removed. You most likely already know all this but I am just reiterating.

  • @evan9201 Kalashnikov himself denies the AK is derived from the Mp44. The only real similarities are the 30 round magazine and gas operated bolt. An AK has just about as much in common with the M1 garand and Model 8 as it does with an MP44.

  • What kind of Ammo works for brands that you have used with it?

  • @airsofter95062 Reliable enough for an army numbered over 2 Million lol.

  • your model may be differant than mine

  • hey guy..that lever on the side , by the trigger ,is not a safety..its to disassemble your trigger assembly...but im guessing you found that out by now , when your trigger fell to the ground when you least expected it...lol

  • I have one and it is extremely reliable. The thing never jams, and is very simple. It's quite accurate as well, not precise, but it does very well.

  • how reliable are those chines guns?

  • Looks like a fiberglass stock? I can't tell. Unless you prefer leaf sights, try the Tech-Sights on your Chinese - it completely transforms the rifle. I wouldn't shoot an SKS without it now.
