This is really good, thanks for saving me twenty quid!

@Lookalemming I think you've hit the nail on the head with TSZ - that's how I've experienced the text, and a lot of the people who I've spoken to about it say something similar. I would go one further and say that if a reader gives a close reading of the Prologue and a few choice passages from the first two books (I'm thinking the speeches in the marketplace and the metamorphosis), then it begins to open up because of the text's recurring metaphorical and allegorical features.

read this 6 years ago for the first time. still haven't recovered.

@MrNotyag A bit heavy and formal English for some, but I agree: it does reflect the attitude of the text well and shares the fluid prose of the historic translations of the Bible.

After reading this book, its apparent he was one angry fellow---esp in the chapter "The New Idol"

Zara is easy to read hard to understand. You need help, no other way about it. But once you have unwrapped a few passages the rest start to make real sense, each theme re-occurs, and each animal re-occurs and each one means a differnt approach to take a different mind set to assume. Dont just read from strt to finish and think u know Nietzsche... no one knows everything about this book.

Really? That worries me to read the book.
