A camera mounted on an all-terrain vehicle that was part of the Russian Search and Recovery Forces team in Kazakhstan captured never-before-seen views of the landing of the Expedition 23 crew in the Soyuz TMA-17 spacecraft east of the town of Dzezhgazkan on June 2, 2010. Soyuz Commander Oleg Kotov and Flight Engineers T.J. Creamer and Soichi Noguchi returned to Earth after 163 days in space.

  • @Kenjineering Yes, Soyuz descent modules are equipped with several rockets on the bottom to help soften the impact. Its still a pretty good jolt, several cosmonauts and astronauts have reported bitten tongues and lips and feeling jarred after impact.

  • @jackjohns01 it has rockets that fire right before touchdown instead of airbags like some other capsules have had.

  • Seyains have jus landed on planet Earth!!!

  • wow... nice landing... that capsule looks awesome..

  • looks the size of what a 1940's microwave would have looked like

  • 0.47 lol

  • It drop down like a bomb.

    How do people feel inside?

  • Как то всё не организованно смотрится(((

  • nothing like have your spleen fall out one a Soyuz landing.

  • @mlovmo It is a brilliant design. By not having the OM come back to Earth it does not need nearly as much shielding. This makes the craft much lighter and more efficient to launch. It just so happens they came up with the good idea in the 1960's.

  • cement mixer right there.

  • @LeadHammer

Well that is true, the good show should be part of the job for the russians too, I wish that they will start paying more attention to that, because they have awasome machines that would look much better and sell much more, with the adecuate filmation. But don't go to far neither, like when american soldiers staged the capture of saddam hussein or the rescue of one of their soldiers. DragonToko also said another example
