DBS approaches top athletes from other schools and lures them to become part of its team. Not an honorable way to win if you ask me. La Salle, on the other hand, doesn't do such thing. That's why one of the favorite chants of La Salle is "say proudly to the rival we have got it with our hands". It is also why when you compare the videos, the students from La Salle have much more spirit and heart. On the other hand, something definitely seems to be missing from the DBS side.

Well, in Hong Kong, DBS is probably the only school that goes out of its way to recruit top athletes from primary schools or other high schools without considering their academic records.

There is no doubt that Mr. Chan Yan Lam is an elite athlete and I believe that he will continue to dominate the "sprint" events in the Inter-school Athletics Meet in the upcoming years.
Let's face it, Mr. Chan Yan Lam is "recruited" from Tsuen Wan Government Primary School by DBS. Mr. Chan was already a superb sprinter before he entered DBS.
Is DBS so lack of confidence in competing fairly that they have to rely on "imported elite athletes" to win?
I don't see how he is recruited or imported though. I can also argue that almost everyone enters Harvard University can read and write very well as shown by the extremely high score on mean SAT of the entering class. Does that mean Harvard recruits or imports elite student/scholar to be a top university in the U.S.? No.
