He's basically saying shorten your tempo...instead of 1...2...3, 3 becomes 2 and 2 becomes one. Most people that throw a punch what for the attacking arm to come fully back, when you want to start your next punch at half way after your first punch comes back.

It's simple if you just look at what he's doing. And being a martial artist helps...lol...

But I only do it for 2 punches. The third punch is a little weird with that idea. At least for me.
