He would not have made it long in the NBA, he actually was not lazy or have a poor work ethic. He suffers from the same condition as Andre the giant (Agromegaly) which is caused by a pituitary tumor, that causes secretion of too much growth hormone. So running and expecially jumping for someone of his stature is not the best thing and causes alot of wear and tear physically.
