Use a double push. Push with your back leg as hard as you can (like a sprinter out of the block). Then push with the other leg (like a sprinter with his first stride). You should literally "run over" your opponent and knock him down if your punch misses.
your hips are open before you move then as your feet pass the mid point and you slide forward you tense your stomach and squeeze your legs together whilst punching forward making sure your hips throw the arm and body forward but making sure you dont rotate your hips past square and also dont lock your arm fully or you will hurt your elbow joint when repeating this because of the force generated soon as punch lands relax and start again and always breath
JKA instructors' videos are the best ones because they have a great and beautiful form, very perfected. It's a great help for starters. As for me, I have already learned most of the Kihon but I've decided to start over and perfect them step by step, starting with a proper stance, moving on to a proper movement and finally the technique itself. I'm planning to take my Karate to the next level and this videos are being a great help.
@18100Heath Great attitude my man. Foundation and basics are the key to all the arts.
