Conductor: Gabriel Crouch
Choir: Kentucky 2010 All-State Men's TTBB Choir

The 2010 Kentucky All-State all-men's choir was conducted by Gabriel Crouch, a phenominal vocalist and conductor. He was a second baritone in the King Singers from and is now an instructor of music and director or Depauw Choral Ensembles at Depauw University at Greencastle Indiana. This song was arranged by Alice Parker and Robert Shaw, and personally, I find this to be a relatively complex, yet very colorful and enjoyable arrangement. The little quirks throughout the piece are not instructed in the score; they were the wishes of the conductor.

Enjoy! (My dad filmed so he zoomed in on me a lot.)

  • notice how they did not sing the parts that could have gotten them in trouble, ( put him in a bed with the captains daughter) does anyone hear know what that really means??

  • @shawnygz No, I don't get it. :P Jk. Yeah, this arrangement left out some of the verses, and I'm sure there was rather tasteful selection on which verses were left out and which ones weren't.

  • Great work to the 2010 TTBB choir! I was in your choir in 1991! I will never forget the sing-along at the Hyatt! Probably the thing that sticks with me to this day. I will tell my grandchildren about that someday!

  • @megoto1972 That's wonderful. And I'm very sorry to say that's before I was even born! It was in the Hyatt even then? Wow! Fortunately, I now attend the University of Louisville, so I can stroll right down to the Hyatt when this goes on and listen to the next year!

  • I have uploaded every song from this concert. Head over to my profile and listen. :)

  • @QRRBRRBLLBL THANK you! :D

  • This makes me so happy that i made All State Choir of Kentucky this year!! Exciting, first time ever, i cant wait to be part of this, it ounds so great its unbelivablly fantastic!!

  • That is beautiful.

  • Great choir

  • I miss this entire group, im right behind the red-head in the video, such a great oppurtunity and arrangement.

  • To fast

  • We did this in my school chamber choir with only 15-20 people. I must say, I am a bit disappointed that there was no tempo variation (for example the main tempo was quite good but when the two basses start singing with the tenors singing the crotchets over the top, the tempo should have slowed dramatically, it increases the effect). A little more dynamic variation would have been nice too. All round good performance though.

  • Best performance of my life. I'm definitely gonna miss All-state :(

  • Wonderful performance!!!

    Keep on singing!!!
