@optronixatron It's called learned helplessness. she sees her mom (who is supposed to be the strongest woman figure) submitting to the unrealistic "all american" family-type. And her mom's pill popping. and her dad groomed her. Think of how we groom our dogs- they love it. It's a sign of affection for them. With children and young adults. Her father took advantage of her and she doesnt know what to do about it so she WON'T do anything; that might be half the reason she tells dot.
