@joshcripe42 So the TL;DR version is this: yes but each on their own and they don't ever do anything about it because Shinji is far too afraid to say anything and Asuka can't bring herself to admit that she loves a wimpy little slip of a guy like Shinji until it's too late. Thanks to Evageeks wiki, as I used their "Theory and Analysis:Shinji and Asuka's Relationship" article as a guide to make sure I didn't miss anything big. And yes, in interest of total honesty, I personally ship AsukaxShinji.

@joshcripe42 In the end, Asuka is crushed. She realizes that she's in love with a socially misfit, who either can't or won't return her feelings. To compound this, she was rescued by Ayanami, the girl she considers her arch rival. Because of all this, in Ep 23, when Armisael attacks, Unit-02 won't move for her at all. In Ep 24 she is found in a dirty bathtub full of red liquid (Bloody water perhaps?) after an apparent suicide attempt.

@joshcripe42 Asuka looks surprised and screams "What are you doing there?!"(we see Shinji smiling in black and white)"You won't do anything!"(The flashback to Ep 9 and the closeup of their lips during the "I'm bored kiss")"You won't help me!"(A flashback to Shinji saving her in Ep 10)"You won't even hold me!"(Asuka storming off after the kiss and the flashback to her at the sink).

@joshcripe42 And another to just after the "I'm bored kiss", were we see Asuka at the sink with a look of disappointment on her face. These two flashbacks occur after Asuka sees Kaji telling her "You're still a child, Asuka." and sees Shinji standing on the other side of Kaji.

@joshcripe42 Moments later, in the bathroom, she complains to herself about having to share an apartment with Shinji and Misato. Later, during the mindrape, Asuka has to confront her true feelings, and we're along for the ride. We see flashbacks to previous events. Of particular interest are two flashbacks. One to the "Wall of Jericho" scene in episode 9, where we see Asuka kneeling on her side of the door,dejected, as if disappointed in Shinji for not knocking down her "Wall of Jericho".

@joshcripe42 In the series' present, Asuka sees Shinji speaking to Ayanami at the train station. Her thoughts are audible to the audience: "He was melted into his Eva for a whole month until just the other day. What's with him? He's totally back to his usual thing again. Fine, so I've lost." Later Asuka confides in Shinji about her feelings towards her stepmother. When she realizes what she's doing, treating "Baka-Shinji" as a confidant, she is stunned.

@joshcripe42 The Director's Cut of Ep 22 has a flashback prologue in which Asuka attempts to seduce Kaji (pretty obvious why this wasn't in the broadcast version of the episode). Kaji is, to say the least, less than thrilled with Asuka's advances and quickly proposes Shinji as a better target for her affections. In this scene Asuka professes a desire for "Kissing and even the stuff after that.", suggesting that, had he been more responsive in episodes 9 or 15, may have received more than a kiss.

@joshcripe42 Fifth: The mindrape. This is the big one. When Arael mindrapes Asuka in episode 22, a whole lot of callbacks to previous events occur. We get to see Asuka's side of several of the earlier scenes and get a whole new perspective on things. Note: I've mostly been sticking to the broadcas episodes before now, but the extended version of the mindrape in the Director's Cut of Ep 22 is needed for this part of the explanation.
