I liked the steal ability in this game it gave you some good stuff earlier than expected but didn't break the game, plus stealing wasn't all that hard with bandit and master thief equipped. Other Final fantasies I don't care for too much except maybe Final Fantasy V

HCBailly, I know this is like almost 9 months after you made this episode, but my opinion on stealing is that it's a great mechanic, but they don't make it very useful. It can be pretty annoying trying to steal items from enemies but getting nothing from them. I barely did any stealing when I started playing this game because of that.
