Snowday on M74 and Hamilton 6th December 2010

Although nothing like snowdays in the northern regions like the highlands, South Lanarkshire council werent prepared for today. As about 2ft of snow fell in an hour, it crippled the roads in and around Lanarkshire.

it's Monday 5th of december 2011 and again the roads are grid locked due to snow. I am getting flashbacks of sleeping in my car a year ago in temps of -13. Why does the scottish goverment not hand back control for gritting the roads and pavements to the local council rather than amey (a private company). Never had these problems in the 60's, 70's or 80's.

Drove through all of this, best thing to do is not leave home on snow days!!! A lot to be said for 4x4's.

That day was soooo funny we got sent home from skool then ma mum n dad finished work at five n didn't get home till 9 :o everybody was jst abandoning there cars though and getting them when the snow was away xxxxxx

I came yesterday from England 7pm and last 3 miles through Larkhall takes 3 hours :D to get home Hamilton.
