Littleton Curve was built at roughly the same time as 'Abingdon' and was designed to (hopefully) show that a scenic model railway could be built in a small space (2ft 6in by 2ft). It was constructed using proprietary kits and bits to demonstrate that you don't have to be able to scratchbuild to build a model railway. Its small size allowed us to take it to exhibitions by train as we don't drive.
The layout appeared in the May 1997 issue of Railway Modeller.
Recently, while exhibiting 'Rorgyle', Littleton Curve has been provisionally invited to appear at a couple exhibitions in the future.

  • th tunnel at 1:08 how do i create it ?

i need one on my model layout.. can somone tell me how?

    big thanks

  • Hi. The tunnel and the road bridge are both bought items. I think, although it's a long time since I purchased them, that they were the Peco ones, but I could be wrong. I think I bought them off a stand at an exhibition. Hope this is off some help.

    Cheers,

    Brant

  • awseome =)

im thinking about selling my old OO gauge hornby trains and switiching to N gauge :) bigger layout and seems a bit cheaper aswell.

what your thoughts on N gauge?

    brill layoutt

    cheers

    Andy.

  • Hi Andy,

Thank you for your post. I think N gauge is the best out of all the scales - partly because I can fit more into a space, but I agree with TOMX45 - N gauge can be very expensive but worth it.

    Cheers,

    Brant

  • By any chance did you use the peco settrack planbook?

  • great little layout mate looking to build a small layout around the same size in the near future were did you get your track plan and ideas from?

  • fantastic layout!!....just proves that space IS NOT everything!!!!!

  • I think this is full size

  • beutifull scenery ... needs a classic steam train ...

  • I am considering starting this scintilating hobby but I have a question, Which has more scenery and engines/trailers for sale in thei ranges OO or N guage?

  • Beautiful layout. I really wish I could fall in love with N-guage, but, I find it's just too small. 00 finescale is perfect to my eye. Not too big, not too small. This is wonderful to see and appreciate all the more for how compact and yet so thoroughly well crafted it all is.

  • Always a delight to watch this layout in action, Brant!

    Chrs, mate!
