They are both very high class amps , but the Accuphase is only for easy driven speakers, so i have ofen used it as e pre amp on the Onkyo . I tkink they are very similar in the sound as well as they are very diffrent in the power .

That 510 is amazing.I have the spec sheet from onkyo in front of me and it still blows my mind what they did back in 84...2.1k watts /channel at 1 ohm and is stable down to a half ohm bridges with a >than 500 damping factor.Unreal amp and wished I could get one.

That Onkyo M-510 is a phenomenal, and much sought after, rare amplifer!  I lusted after it back in the late 80's, and compromised by getting an M-504, which is OK. Currently rocking a McIntosh and Magnepan system. Thanks for your post.

i wish i could get my hands on one of these grand m-510.currently i am using sherwood am-7040(200w/channel)but what can i say my hunger for power ful sound will only end when i will get my hands on one of these grand m-510.

Aurum makes super tranducers as good as Heil units, i think , have owned a lot of those

Aurum Cantus makes some pretty awesome ribbon tweeters...i've never heard their transducers tho....

onkyo makes some bad as amplifier as well receivers

Wow Onkyo M510, it was 1989 when I first saw this monster at Akihabara, Japan I wanter to buy one but the do not have a multi-voltage unit, only 100volts japanese use only. I settled for the baby version the Grand Integra M-508 with multi voltage setting.
