......... does not match the minimum wage pay. Why would an employer hire someone who is worth $5/hour productivity, with a wage equal to minimum wage, of, say, 8 dollars and hour? This only increase the unemployment. The poor also receive poor gov't quality education. All these secondary effects create the problems that prevent the poor from moving up in the world, earning a higher pay, and thus being able to pay for privatized health care. Medicare just cures the symptom, not the problem.
Well the reason why the "poor" cannot pay for such health care is simple: basic economics. It is the result of more lovely government intervention, with their invention of the welfare system and the minimum wage system. The welfare system gives incentive for people to become poorer, to receive the funding for their lives, on top of their normal income as it is. the minimum wage system prevents those with out much skills, from obtaining on the job skills, because their productivity..............
BTW - I enjoy having this talk with you, I am not here to bash any of your points. I enjoy having economical talks like this with people, so long as you enjoy responding.
What is the professionals incentive to supply the best service possible? there is no incentive when the employees are being paid by other peoples money, and spend to run their company with other people's money. And also, that is to assume that they WANT to make it work.
On another note, not everyone is deserving of health care. What about those who purposely harm their health? Those who know exactly what they are doing, like smokers, drinkers, and drug users? But I am more curious for you to answer my other question.

True. Not everyone deserves it especially if they're abusing substances to the point of taxing their health.
I respect your opinion on this matter. I'm simply one of those who still appreciates our Medicare system.

well let me rebut you with this, why can't the "poor" pay for the "exorbitant" prices of privatized health care?
