My luge has eight wheels and ceramic bearings this time... wanted to check it out. It is definitely faster. So I know this will really go on the longer runs! Can't wait!

I met a luger (Frank) I rode with several times up here,. awhile back(search: 'Frank's Fly BY'). He passed me up fairly quickly when I had four wheels on the ground; steel bearings and he could draft me first. I don't think so now! Don't know when I'll ride with him again, to find out? The luge upgrades seem to work quite well.

Fun morning. Came out here around 9 a.m to avoid the crowd...but as you see it starts picking up quick. I have been practicing here at Tabor with stand up as well. Not as fast but definitely a different skill set. Lots of DH'rs/longboard skaters up here. Enjoy meeting them too.

Looking fwd to warmer weather and longer roads. Mt Tabor barely takes the 'edge off'. But...oh well...for now. Besides...the climb back up in between rides is good for me! I'm actually at the point where I like that part almost just as much! Uhhhh...but not quite.

  • i've ALWAYS wanted to build one of these!!! i started dh longboarding back in may and LOVE it! my friend that really helped me get into and better set up the soldiers of downhill race in bainbridge, oh. you should come race next year if he does it again. and speakin of security, wasn't that park security at 1:45? do they not allow it?

  • @Tarzan07330 yeah...it was the Water Beaureau (park security up here due to the reservoirs). They are not real happy about us being there. what can I say?...overweight guys that cruise around in tax paid cars all day. A couple are nice. I don't ride here anymore. There are bigger and better places. But it was fun at first.

  • you've almost inspired me to get in to this and fabricate my own! lol any good web sites you recommend?

  • @WESTCOASTKING76 the only online plans are of a basic old woody street luge. well tried and tested; has brought a lot of fun to a lot of would be lugers. I made one even, for myself. but almost as soon as it was done, I had the design idea for this one and I could not let it go! This is the only one I ride. Darren Lott's 'Streetluge Survival guide is a must read. Go to street_luge(dot)com and you can learn tons of great stuff, if you don't mind looking a bit.

  • Nice.

  • @YouTees well at least you had fun while you did and found some better places!

  • excellent speed!

  • This seems almost funny to me now! I have a new channel besides this one(for my street luge stuff)on youtube(lowandfastdotcom)...and it is a real website as well. Please check out my videos on that other youtube channel. I hit 54.4 mph on Mnt. Scott Road and am planning a skyline drive run soon if the weather allows. I don't even go to Mt. Tabor with mjy luges anymore. But it was a fun beginning. Mt Scott ROCKS faster and longer for a 'backyard' run!

  • Nice thanks! My buddy and I were just talking about making up some plans.
