A few days before the film "American Violet" was screened in Hearne, Texas, a local business owner says he was the target of intimidation by an investigator from the Robertson County District Attorney's office because of a poster advertising the film.
The business owner refused to take the poster down.
The film is based on real life events in which an African-American woman was wrongfully swept up in a military-style drug raid. The charges against her were dismissed and with the help of the ACLU she, and others, later sued the district attorney's office for racial discrimination.
