  • I just discovered, if you turn the volume down on this, and then instead play any other kind of upbeat rock/etc tune, it will always somehow at points sync up.

  • I like this

  • @mocrg Thanks for the support, but I've been checking out The Two Ronnies... It's from Season 3, Episode 8.... and it's originally Hip Hug Her by Booker T.

The more I research, the more sure I am that I was wrong.

Mind you.... I think shaunnormancroft has done a brilliant job of this mash up... and in some ways The Hustle does actually go better to their routine.

    But it's Hip Hug Her.

  • @Countrygent100 I saw this on TV and I remember it was the Hustle. Because at the time I liked the song and thought the pattycake routine was silly. I was 12 at the time and remember this routine and those outfits. Remember there were only 3 tv stations then so you remembered what you saw better.

  • I WAS WRONG... I THINK.

jayfey77 has corrected me: Hip Hug Her.

I checked it out, and jayfey77 is most likely right.

The clip is NOT from TOTP - it's from the Two Ronnies of 1974. There lay the cause of the problem. It's not a routine for a charting single in Britain - it's merely a dance routine for entertainment in a variety show.

I was right about it being a 70s performance (Cheery Gillespie being in the routine)... but...

... it's looking like it's NOT The Hustle.

    Had me going.

  • @sosadman1 According to George's Journal, NME websites & the 'One For The Dads' site's Song Listings for Top Of The Pops 26th June 1975 - YES this IS the piece of music they are dancing to. There is another piece, available on dangerousminds site, called "Homely Girl" by the Chilites where the girls wear country-style dungarees alternating with cuts to 5 other Pan's girls in the selfsame frilly short white dresses. The routine there, as is the dance floor, is quite different to this one.

  • Loverly bit of camel toe going on here xxxxxxx

  • @Countrygent100 Actually old son this is NOT the piece of music they are dancing to but a fan based video with the Hustle The Original is on youtube so keep digging :-)

  • All the good looking girls could move to this tune back in the day......young lads dreams were made of this after watching them at the disco...happy days!

  • Countrygent you are right on the money!!
