I don't understand why some people say, he copys Wunderlich. What does that mean? Doesn't he sing with his own voice?

His phrasing is exactly the same as Wunderlich's. Compare the two.

@canzonettasullaria it's the way he sings and how he's phrasing. One should develop their own way of singing, making an aria or role your own and put your own musicality in it. Some singers copy the well received formulas from previous masters. That's generally not good. We had Wunderlich, and we don't need another one, since he died too early..,

@amballa you mean he is copycatting wunderlich. except he sounds much worse. he is pretty woofy here, he is really struggling.

@amballa: that's not surprising, since he stated in a recent Opera News interview that Wunderlich was his idol, and that everybody should take a class in how to sing from Wunderlich. I heard Piotr live at the met in Lucia and it was fabulous.
