Thunderhill Park - Mazdaspeed3 Flying Lap 1/30/10

My first Track Day/HPDE. This was in the later sessions in the day. Car performed great! Driving quick but not too aggressively. I did get some brake fade in earlier sessions, so I was taking it a bit easy on the high speed straights and braking zones. I was stuck behind the Cooper until the passing zone, but what a fun lap!

Are those new windmills further from the track than they look in the video? I'd be worried about a car getting turned on the front straight during a race and going for a ride into those. They must have tire barriers surrounding the bases, right?

nice driving...excellent for your 1st trackday ever......don't let the grumpy instuctor get you down...your driving is just fine....2:28 is plenty fast for your 1st time in a street car!!! I do really like the tires you are running...I run them on my lemons racer and they are GREAT

Glad you had a better time later in the car. You have a great attitude and good start. I would have liked to see more from both of those guys to be honest, but your video is just a snapshot. Keep it, see you out there sometime.

Nice to get an instructor than a whiney bitch of a 'so-called' racer. What a waste of your time. What kind of car did that guy track? I'm curious as to what kind of "man" you were dealing with.
