Skyrim Kinect: Fus Ro Dah, is the latest edition to the 'PC Games Kinected' lineup, which allows for full character control using both gestures and voice.
Like the original Skyrim Kinect, you can use your arms to swing swords, cast spells, use your bow, or block with shieds. Movement, like walking/running and sneaking, is still handled with body movements and has seen an increase in precision. As a result, gameplay using the Bow is very enjoyable and preice.
As well, Voice Commands have been greatly improved. In Skyrim Kinect: Fus Ro Dah, you can use your voice to select up to 11 spells, to drink mana/health potions, to equip your sword/shield/bow, and to equip 2 different armor sets.
Voice Commands also allow you to say your favorite shouts (10 currently), by simply saying the dragon shout words of power. Not only can you say "Fus Ro Dah", you can also simply say "fus", or "fus roh". The majority of the shouts, which have multiple shout levels, use this approach.
In this video I share some new spells and shouts, but also some functional voice commands. For example, switching character view (from 1st to 3rd), rotating the camera around your character, and taking screenshots. These more technical voice commands are actually quite important, as I found that playing in 3rd person has its advantages, and being able to switch on the fly is useful.
Here is a list of the new voice commands available in Skyrim Kinect: Fus Ro Dah, which build off the voice commands used in the original Skyrim Kinect:
- saying "switch view" to change between 1st and 3rd person perspectives.
- saying "screenshot" to take a screenshot using Steam.
- saying "equip armou/robes" to switch between equipment.
- saying "drink ___ health/mana potions" - to drink potions and specify how many.
11 Different Spells:
Flames, Frost Byte, Sparks, Calm, Telekinesis, Detect Life, Iron Flesh, Muffle, Detect Life, Conjure Fire Atronarch, Fast Heal.
10 Different shouts: including Fus Ro Dah! (Won't mention other ones to avoid spoilers)
Again, the Skyrim Kinect: Fus Ro Dah setup uses FAAST and VAC. For more details on how these programs work, see the original Skyrim Kinect video. What is new to this setup is the use of script extenders for Skyrim. This was accomplished using Script Dragon, made available by Alexander Blade, combined with the extra shout & extra spells mods created by Eldiran. I would like to give a big thanks to Youtuber InsanityOne89 for bringing these mods to my attention. These additions allow for a greater number of hotkeys and shouts to be used in gameplay.
I hope you guys enjoy the video. Please feel free to provide comments, debates, suggestions, and feedback about what you liked/disliked in the video. I really tried to incorporate your suggestions and comments from the Skyrim Kinect video into this current video. I hope to continue to create videos that appeal to viewers, and your feedback is important for that to be successful.
Thank you again for watching, for subbing, and for supporting these videos.
Cheers!
