The very famous pipe organ piece frequently associated with Dracula; or pretty much anybody hammering away at a pipe organ in a horror film. This piece however is "Toccata and Fugue", composed by Bach. So we give him the credit.

  • this is not a halloween song its a church song

  • @sethc2001 Definitely true....but no matter how many times people tell me I'm never going to be able to think of anything but Vampires when I hear it. :-D

  • Bach was a devout Christian and wrote all of his music to the honor and glory of Almighty God. This piece was played for worship in churches, and still should be. The dracula thing is an imagination gone awry, no matter how popular it has become. I play the toccata for the church youth and tell them the correct story.

  • @accousticdecay Very true. This certainly isn't the only famous classical piece that was intended for mass that in modern times, has become known for something else.

But it certainly sounds friggin' awesome with Vampires. ;-)

  • I love this piece but I will never under stand why its played so fast. It would sound much more dark and demonic if it was played at half that speed and hold the low notes longer.

  • I love this music but I'll always remember hearing it for the first time in Fantasia.
