...You have the same effect by moving the bar, as usual. So you have just the same fonction in two different places : the player and the movie. That's... useless.
I think that I did not understand the description too, event the video. Do you mean that you can select any object in the vidéo and manipulate them independantly or do you only move the video just by moving one object of the video ? Your video is not clear.
the person in the video knew how it was recorded, so he was dragging it along pre-known paths. If he had tried to drag it side-to-side, the video would not have moved.
That is not the point of the video, the point is that the video can be moved back and forth based on one item in the video.

Now that I see the example, I can see that this helps you focus on the movement of a particular item in a clip in a way that is hard to do otherwise.
