Following reports of "gross mismanagement" of the remains of fallen troops at Dover Air Force Base mortuary, U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill today called for an immediate investigation of the Air Force Inspector General and demanded a stop to any retaliation against whistleblowers who brought the revelations to light. Saying that the leadership of Port Mortuary had failed in their mission, McCaskill wrote today to Secretary of the Air Force Michael Donley and Air Force Chief of Staff General Norton Schwartz to demand the investigation following a report by the Office of Special Counsel (OSC).
