  • can i use a usb drive instead of an external cd drive?

  • @reinux You can try but I was not able to get a USB drive to work due to the driver support.

  • what if i have an mbr disk?

  • @BiggTuna1 You can change a MBR disk to a GPT disk just make sure you back up your data!

  • For the most part, yes. Buy a Sandy Bridge CPU and motherboard that supports EFI and you are set.

  • @jpltim cool, thanks.

  • Yeah let's get locked with this new UEFI secure boot which will probably lock people from installing anything but Microsoft and later even lock you from installing what hardware you might choose or whatever software you may want to download!!

    RIDICULOUS TRY!

  • @jpltim So right now I can buy hardware on which I can install windows and finally be rid of BIOS for eternity?

  • @blaynestaleypro With the release of the Sandy Bridge line at the start of 2011, UEFI installations with most SB motherboard manufacturers is now easier and works with standard equipment.
