This is the first piece in a 1.5-hour concert performed on August 27, 2005 by the National Police University Orchestra at the S. Korean Peace Festival beyond the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).

The Peace Festival lasted for 40 days from early August to September 11, 2005 and was attended by more than forty countries including Iraq, Palestine, Romania, the UK and the USA.

Wafaa' Al-Natheema video taped the entire Orchestra performance, which can be obtained from the Institute of Near Eastern & African Studies (INEAS). The original video footage is in excellent quality.

Ms. Al-Natheema performed poetry and songs at this festival on August 26 and, upon return to the USA, wrote a detailed report about the festival and her personal account of South Korea, which can be accessed at http://www.INEAS.org/specialreports.htm#Korea

Our Institute was contracted to have two Iraqi musicians living in Jordan to perform with this Korean Orchestra at the Peace Festival. The Iraqi musicians also performed a 45-minute concert featuring music written by Iraqi composers on August 26.
