On July 9, 2011, Jonathan Richman hosted a screening of "Vengo" at The Red Vic Movie House in San Francisco, and invited his friend Kenny Parker, aka "Keni el Librajano", to add some commentary during the projection and play a bit at the the end of the show. This was his second piece of the night. See part 1 at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZrGyaSCoTY .

  • So great to see Keni on here. He taught me everything I know about traditional Flamenco and I am so very grateful. Solea was beautiful. Bravo! Flamenco Puro!

  • How's Kenny doing? I heard he was having some hard times.

  • If I can help you get more of his playing and the shows that he does posted, let me know. Keni knows how to get in touch with me. That Eugene Clark guitar is glorious, as well. I play one and love it.

  • Keni is one of my best friends, and also my teacher. He sent me the link. I have been pestering him to get some of his wonderful playing up on YouTube for years. So I am overjhoyed that he has. Next I want to help build him a web site. I have been listening to Flamenco since I was 3. I am now 61. I do not know of anyone playing today whose playing I enjoy and appreciate more. What I call "real Flamenco" has mostly been displaced by commercial playing that is not improvised. I love this.

  • Thanks for posting this! This is what Flamenco is all about. Straight from the heart. There is so little Flamenco being played with this level of honesty and soul these days. This is a treasure. I hope a lot of people, particularly aspiring Flamenco players will listen to this and be inspired. Wow!
