Coming up with and recording a groove at Blast Off Studios in NYC. The right hand is shaking a rainstick during this hiphop-heavy groove. SUBSCRIBE NOW!
Slick groove! I tried that a couple times, but it's tough to keep the shaker consistent. And I was just using an egg! Not a tree branch. :) LOL at the height of your right hand and the end. That thing must be heavier than it looks.
it's definitely hard at first, but I recommend just practicing with shakers by themselves first. a HUGE part of why I play these types of grooves is due to my studies in percussion AWAY from the drum set.
Thanks again, man!.....and yes, that rainstick was heavy as hell! haha
haha, yeah that rainstick was definitely on the large side!
as for the hats...on all of the Deep Diner Studio sessions, I simply use what they have in the studio. I'll check what they are when I'm there next week and get back to you. As for my personal kit, I usually use 14" Zildjian K Constantinoples Hats.
Really great one. You got the beat!
