  • One of the original designs for the 747 was a double decker, like the A380. That was rejected as being too cumbersome, with airports unable to load the aircraft effectively. In a sense, the 747 paved the way for the A380 by making airports accept huge aircraft....you're welcome Airbus.

  • wowowowo!!!

747 can be operated by a single GE90

    awesome!

  • @210482fmj I doubt if what you're saying is true considering GE and RR were at logger heads when the GE-90 and Trent 8104 were being developed. The last thing they would've wanted to have done was to have worked on a joint project together

  • they had plans for an even more powerful engine to be released than the ge90-115b and it was a joint effort between GE and RR but it got cancelled due to funding problems and such.

  • @goodluckocean at low speed and high engine thrust with low weight..

  • @sloppiexx 6 of them in the Antonov 225...O.O

  • what is the episode called?

  • @venichen1 No, portugues.

  • Imagine 4 of them on a 747 :D

  • many ports probably didnt have the capability to accept the normal 747 and needed modifications never mind a complete double decker
