This is awful! Because professional dancers (such as Sarah Lane) worked their whole life to be like that, and Natalie can't pose as a skilled dancer. It makes the rest of the dance world look like "Oh yeah, we learned all this in a year" when it really took many hours in a day, 5-7 days a week, and overall just many years!
Hollywood lies. I am shocked, shocked. If Natalie could have done the difficult dancing, they would not have needed to hire Sarah. Natalie should have had enough class to acknowledge Sarah.
Of course people are thick enough to think Portman did all the dancing herself. The box office at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden in London got so many calls from people asking when Portman was going to dance Odette/Odile with the Royal Ballet. I have not seen Portman in class, but only in the film so I am not going to say anything abut her dance training/background/ability. I for one liked the film, as I didn't go see it to if Portman could dance or not, I just love Swan Lake.
When Natalie appeared on the David Letterman show to promote Black Swan she mentioned having a dance double, but she didn't mention her by name. She mentioned the choreographer and her trainer by name and talked a lot about them. If I were in Sarah's position, I probably wouldn't have said anything. Still, I can understand why she's upset. The producers did silence her and that seemed pretty shady.
Honestly I don't care that Natalie Portman didn't do the majority of the dancing. And I wouldn't thank the dance double either if she was slandering my name lol.

@YurrahAlHadi Stunt doubles/stunt artists usually get their name in the end credits even though it may not say exactly WHO the did the stunt for.
