When Congress reorganized the peacetime regular army in the summer of 1866, it had taken the above situation into account. It also recognized the military merits of black soldiers by authorizing two segregated regiments of black cavalry, the Ninth United States Cavalry and the Tenth United States Cavalry and the 24th, 25th , 38th , 39th, 40th and 41st Infantry Regiments. Orders were given to transfer the troops to the western war arena, where they would join the army's fight with the Indians. Directed and shot by William Byers.

  • @mayansun It was all politics. Many blacks joined up to prove themselves and to potentially better there status in the "white" majority that is the U.S. They often had to fight Natives in the frontier but sometimes they had protect them and were the first park rangers. Buffalo soldiers participated in many of the U.S. imperial causes like Spanish American war, Phillipine war, and WW1. Racism was very prevalent but the fought with valor during these hard times and should be proud.

  • yes I have, very beautiful people!

  • @hobosinn Hahahahaha have you seen full blooded native americans? Hardly attractive people.

  • @hobosinn Many natives fought for the confederacy. All of the so called civilized tribes owned slaves and many didnt free their slaves during the emancipation. Many natives served as slave catchers also......your people were far from being perfect.

  • @hobosinn If you are a true native of the U.S then why in the world would you consider hispanics (majority of whom are mixed) to be "your people"?

  • @BlacknesUnforgivable

The fastest growing population are native American, just wait till the southern borders

open Hispanics are also native Americans. Uh OH!!

  • The buffalo soldiers video racism, pure fairy tale romanticized horror of murders. Native Americans called them buffalo soldiers because of the nappy tuft of hair that the buffalo had. Shame the devil and tell the truth. My native ancestors fought along side the northern whites to free enslaved blacks. Shame on you! glorifying white ordered blacks abuse of some native people old and young marching and relocating them like Jews into concentration camps.

  • Take the video off you racist delusional idiot. It is in the same category as birth of a nation. Stop trying to copy old white media propaganda. At least they are evolving to be less racist and more truthful meanwhile blacks are putting on their old worn propagandist film making. It is idiotic. Your picking their garbage for out of date ideas on film making and history.

Buffalo soldiers were a lowly band of buffalo haired murdering tools of racists. Wake up and smell the black coffee!

  • If a buffalo soldier tried to march you, your kids, your wife, parents and grandparents after other soldiers murdered your best friends and family

You would make up derogatory terms for them and that's why they were compared to a beast which they saw facial and other similarities such as their prey the buffalo with their black wide flat noses flared nostrils black face, and afro puff of nappy hair atop their head and dopey demeanor easily killed. It was an insult!

  • @nnnnnn7678 Im glad you prairie niggers are almost extinct
