How about using the poor lonely whisk over on the counter...A whisk should be used while forming the roux, so you get all the lumps out. But yes, a wooden spoon would be ideal, once the sauce has formed...the metal spoon is the last tool to be used.

Actually Lodge Logic, who has been making Dutch Ovens for over 100 years recommends not to use any soap when your cleaning them. So ,although she shouldn't be using that metal spoon to stir her roux, she is cleaning and prepping it correctly.

You really shouldn't use metal utensils in cast iron. You also told people NOT to use soap on cast iron in another video. Do you warn everyone before they eat your food that they are eating from a dirty dish and risk food poisoning?
