right i bought this mixer but where is the switch to listen to a channel through the headphones without it playing through the speakers

You can observe the yellow buttons on the mixer, the PFL ON buttons. When they`re pressed and the Monitor knob in the center is turned to PFL you can hear just the song on that channel.

I see all your LED indicators are in the amber/red. Should you back down the volume control to avoid distortion?

As you can see, the Master2 control (RCA plugs) is not set to maximum. To avoid distorsion, set Master2 to maximum and reduce gain. Please realise that this is a low-budget mixer with how quality sound, while 4 channel mixers sound louder but are considerably more expensive.

wow man thats a really stupid comment!! Ecler are renowned for making world class mixers and this is one of the best 2 channel mixers money can buy FACT! another fact ... 4 channel mixers are not "louder" hahaha. talk about tar and same brush! and one more fact.. AVOID playing in any RED as much as poss.. lolll
