I like'em both. Teardrop is a great theme. It's just we can't relate it somehow to the opening titles we know.

The shot of the rowing team was done because the producers originally wanted to include an image of a cane and an image of a Vicodin bottle, but Fox objected. This left them without any image to accompany Jennifer Morrison's name, so they picked the rowing team.

I dunno why it's such a big deal in the first place, though. XD
