I like Scuba.com, but that was a waste of 3:57

My dad has a ten pound sledge he hits his bottle with. He says thats the best way to tell if it has air without a guage.

the song at the end is so funny!

some dive shops wont fill up your tank if it below 30, because they think you are stupid and unsafe

@unumnut -- liquid? compressed gases have weight.
Compressed air has 4-6 pounds.

this is common sense. you still need a gauge though. I guess you could memorize the tune when full and empty and judge based on that. I would rather trust the gauge though.

Cool trick Brochacho. I will have to try it next time i rent tanks. Assume I could get the same result just banging on it?

Turns out... not really. You need to lift them off the ground to get them to ring right. I've tried just banging them with a rubber mallet, and it's really not as good.

lol very good but can i ask. if you check your tank like that isntthere a chance that you can within time damage your tank?

No... It's not like we're dropping it off a building - A little bounce on the floor is way less trauma than a tank will go through in it's normal day of use.
